2014 Hosting Survey

23 July 2014 By WPORL Leave a Comment

We’re looking to find the best hosts for WordPress! After so many users asking for suggestions, with so many solutions being offered, we realized that a lot of decisions are made purely on opinion. Now we’re crowdsourcing those opinions to get the best host for an average WordPress website. If your favorite host wasn’t listed, I apologize, but add it to the form and we’ll include it in results.

Please share the link to this survey around. The more responses that we get, the more accurate the results are when we present them. The survey runs until 31 July 2014.

Please note that you don't have to fill out every field, but the more information, the better!
1 The Basics
2 Cost and Support
3 Speed and Uptime
4 Features
5 Parting Thoughts
  • If you have an annual plan, something variable, or anything else that would affect your count, make a best guess at the per month cost.
  • Note that some hosts only offer certain plains (such as WP Engine with managed hosting). Generally Shared Hosting is most common for low-cost monthly plans.
  • Base this on the plans that you have used or looked at, if applicable.
  • This is a ranking of website uptime, namely how often you cannot access your site due to the host and server, not due to errors on your site (such as plugin failures)
  • Features that matter to you (site installers, subdomain availability, git access, etc)
  • Features that matter to you (site installers, subdomain availability, git access, etc)
  • We won't use this for any other mailings, and it is totally voluntary. After the survey is complete, we'll analyze results and send them to you.
