Apply to Speak at our Meetup

If you’re interested in giving a talk at WordPress Orlando, please fill out the following form. We’re going to need this information eventually to put up on the site, but we’ll allow you to update it later if needed.

What if I’ve never given a presentation before?

First: you do not need to be a programmer/developer/coder to speak at our Meetup. Take a look at some of our past events to see the types of talks that are popular with our group. We also have a list of talk topics if you need ideas to get started.

We’re always looking for new speakers, and we don’t think that you need to have a ton of experience to get involved. We’ve had many speakers at our events who have never given a public presentation before. Our audience is welcoming and engaged, and we’re friendly to newcomers.

If you want to give a talk but need some help with creating a presentation, the following speaker training documents created by the Make WordPress team can help:

  • Finding a Topic for a WordPress Talk
  • Writing the Pitch for your WordPress Talk
  • Creating Your WordPress Talk
  • Becoming a Better Speaker
  • Creating Great Slides
Speaker Training [and Diversity Speaker Outreach]
